Gravitas Insurance was started by Chris Gray.

Chris has many years of insurance experience. He started his insurance career with Farm Bureau of Georgia. Moving back to Oklahoma and obtaining a college education he went to work with Farmers Insurance Group. Having developed a captive agency that had no choices for his customers, he decided that being Independent was the way to go. Chris then started working with Charles Penwright Insurance in Yukon. That's where Chris developed his affinity for commercial insurance. After several years of developing the fledgling agency, Chris realized his customers would be better served from an agency where he could control the level of customer service. Treating his customers with Gravitas is where the idea of his new agency was born.

Gravitas (specifically dignity, seriousness, and duty) is one of the several virtues that ancient Roman society expected men to possess, along with pietas, dignitas, and iustitia.
